Scots Fusilier Guards Departing for Crimea by Harry Payne. (PC) The scene at Portsmouth as the 1st Battalion Scots Fusilier Guards embark on HMS Simoom in early 1854 for Crimea. The soldiers would return in late 1856 having taken part in the battles of Alma and Inkerman and the siege of Sevastopol. |
