![]() ![]() Sergeant John Kenneally VC (deceased) *Signature Value : £55 | Joined the Honourable Artillery Company at the age of 18 and by 1943 had made his way to the Irish Guards, serving in Tunisia. On 28th April he single-handedly charged the enemy with his Bren gun, breaking up the enemy attack. Two days later, this time with a comrade, he repeated the act, inflicting many casualties despite being wounded himself. For these heroic actions he was awarded the Victoria Cross. After the war he worked in the motor industry. He died on 27th September 2000. |
